This privacy policy describes the processing of personal data when you use Guess What.

Data for your game account and gameplay

When you register and use an account, we process in particular your email address, player name, avatar selection, authentication data, and data necessary for games, friendships, invitations, and results.

We process this data to provide the game, protect accounts, run multiplayer features, and handle requests.

Hosting in Germany

The Astro application is operated through Coolify on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany. Technically necessary connection and log data may be processed in this context.

Supabase in Ireland

We use Supabase in Ireland for authentication, game, profile and friendship data, and live updates. Supabase processes the data required for this on behalf of the controller.

OpenAI

We use OpenAI to review custom categories and to create and narrate questions. Only content required for the relevant purpose is processed.

Audience measurement with Plausible

We operate Plausible Analytics ourselves on our Hetzner infrastructure in Germany for privacy-conscious usage statistics. It records page views and product events such as lobby creation, matchmaking, and game completion.

We do not send account IDs, names, email addresses, answer content, or categories to Plausible.

Retention and your rights

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, statutory retention obligations, or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. You can delete your account in the application.

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection.
